Our mission at Climate Designers is to empower designers to learn, connect, and act on climate.

Our climate emergency affects every city, town, and region differently. We help regional design communities establish independent Chapters & Hubs around the world to further this mission at the local level.

What is a Chapter/Hub?

Chapters and Hubs are independently organized and run affiliates of Climate Designers that host events within their local design community. They are licensed to use Climate Designers branding and represent the same mission and vision as the central Climate Designers organization.

The central Climate Designers org offers support such as onboarding documentation and calls to get Chapters and Hubs off the ground. At that point they run themselves, but join the broader Climate Designers community to facilitate collaboration with other locations and stay informed of the latest from the central organization.

Why be a Chapter/Hub Leader?

Being a Chapter/Hub leader enables you to be a local design leader for climate action. Not only is it rewarding to bring people together with the knowledge that you are making a difference in the climate fight, but collective organizing is rewarding personally as well.

Our theory of change is that knowledge + community = action. It’s difficult to remain motivated and learn effectively when working in isolation. Learning and working together with a group is one of the best ways to replace climate grief with hope, and to be a part of creating community resilience and connection within your region.

Being a Chapter/Hub Leader also offers incredible opportunities for growth as a leader. You will become a skilled event host and community organizer. You get to bring your ideas to life for the benefit of your community. And you have Climate Designers behind you while doing so, making it easier to partner with other organizations and build local momentum around all things design and climate. You are part of a global community of change makers through the Climate Designers org. Many meaningful connections have been made amongst our volunteers, and many have furthered their climate careers while volunteering with us. We do what we can to support you on your journey.
