You’re here because you care about climate change, which means you know it’s one of the greatest challenges we will ever solve. Once you understand existing climate solutions and how designers can help implement them, it’s much easier to make a plan for how and where to begin. Climate and sustainability can be an overwhelming field. Analysis paralysis about where you can make a dent in the problem is a huge deterrent to getting started on the work that needs to be done. In this section, you’ll learn what climate design can look like for you.

First, find your place in climate and sustainability

Most organizations are focused on a single goal or small range of goals within “climate change”, so looking by sector makes it easier to find organizations you want to work with and learn from. Focusing on the topic(s) you are most passionate about can help keep you focused on the positive impact you can have and how you can most effectively direct your energy, rather than the scale of the problem.

There is a ton of great work happening in each category through non-profits, startups, established companies, NGOs, and governments. Here’s an initial list of topics to get you started!
